About the course
"Creativity takes courage." - Henry Matisse once said. Drawers, sculptors, animators, designers, curators, actors...these professions and more take courage. They also can all be aided by getting a bachelor's and or master in fine arts. This course will review the field of fine arts, some of its professions, and what it's like to study fine arts in higher education. We'll also discuss what you need and how to apply to fine arts programs, as well as the timeline and mistakes to look out for when applying. Creativity might take courage, but education just takes hard work, and this course is a good first step!
Instructor
I have worked for the past three years as a college adviser helping high school students with the college admissions process. During this time, I helped students with their college essays, SAT/ACT prep, and their college applications. I have also helped tutor peers in college and high school as well as led a middle school mentoring program. I joined Gooroo to make a number of subjects in high school more accessible and easier to understand for all students. I am excited to help students with the college application process as well as math and science subjects so they can achieve their goals and grow individually.
