About the course
Want to make a lasting impression? Etch a design into a piece of metal that will last a lifetime! In this course I will show you how to make an electro etching station at home. After an introduction on the history and science behind electro etching, I will provide a step by step demonstration on how to convert an old phone charger into a power source for easy at home etching. Together we will make our etching station, prepare our materials, make a design, submerge our design in the etching bath, watch it get etched, and then sand it off to reveal the etch itself! Electro etching can be done by people of all ages (even young children!), however the process of building your electro etching station should be done with the help of an adult who takes on the responsibility of working with low voltage electrical currents.
