About the course

Forces and energy were covered in units 1 through 4. Now students will learn how to apply these concepts to a new type of motion called Simple Harmonic Motion (SHM). SHM involves periodic motion, which is typical for spring-mass systems and pendulum problems. By the end of this unit, students will learn how to approach both types of systems.

AP Physics 1 is an algebra-based, introduction to college-level physics course. The framework of this course is organized into 10 commonly taught units of study. Each unit contains information that needs to be understood in order to prepare students for taking the AP Physics exam given by College Board AP.
