Course overview

Review

Students will review stable notes, unstable notes, chords within the major scale, cadences, and minor scales.

Chord Extensions

Students will learn about the chord extension to the 7th degree

Cadence

Students will further their understanding about cadences

Improvise Melody

Students will improvise a melody in a 8 measure - 2, 4 bar phrases using the stable vs unstable note method

5

Harmonize

Students will take their melody and harmonize the chord structure with it.
