About the course

This course will provide you with an introduction to entry-level topics such as stoichiometry, balancing equations, conversions, and how to determine limit reagents and percent yield. I try to break down the concepts and give step-by-step examples. I hope you enjoy this video.

Instructor

Hi, I'm Alex, a chemistry tutor. Most of you probably are coming into this subject with the misapprehension that chemistry is boring and hard, but that's where I come in. My goals and style of tutoring is to break down topics into understandable smaller bits, and then help you piece them together as a whole. As for my background, I received my BS in chemistry from SUNY Geneseo, followed by my PhD in organic chemistry (my specialty) from Syracuse in 2010. I worked in the industry for 7 years, but after being laid off, I began tutoring and have been so for over 3 years. I've tutored students as young as high school and in college, all the way to adults looking to change their career path, and I really enjoy watching students realize how easy a topic was once I help break it down with them.
