About the course

"Let’s learn about energy! Get acquainted with the motion of kinetic energy. See it’s give and take relationship with potential energy. And watch how, combined with the conservation of energy, they create the thrills of roller coasters.

Understand how motion surrounds you through the principles of kinetic energy and many forms of energy in everyday life."

Course overview

1

What is Energy?

Students will learn what energy is through brainstorming various examples

2

Kinetic or Potential?

Students will learn the determining factors behind both kinetic and potential energy and compare energies of objects

3

Conservation of Energy

Students will learn that energy is conserved through the swinging of a pendulum

4

Roller Coaster Project

Students will build their own mini roller coaster to see kinetic and potential energy at work
