About the course
Starting with the foundations of Chemistry, this course is a journey through the science behind baking. In each lesson, we will tackle a different key ingredient of everyday pastries, such as flour, butter, and sugar, and explore all the chemistry behind it. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to ace your next chemistry test, as well as create your favorite desserts from scratch — though maybe not at the same time. But what could be a better deal? Instructor
Hi there! I’m Nivita, a recent graduate of Columbia University. My interests are far and wide, but my main passion is education. I’ve been working in reformative education and alternative pedagogy for a number of years in New York, before recently returning to my homeland of India to study meditation and other contemplative practices. By next fall, I hope to be back at Columbia getting my master’s in Education, studying new ways to reform the NYC education system. As Albert Einstein said, “Those who have the privilege to know have the duty to act,” and that remains the unwavering motto of my teaching journey.
