Course overview
Identifying the Basics
Students will learn to recognize what to play by finding the melody, bass,and accompanimental texture.
Time Signatures
Students will learn the basic time signatures and how to hear/ID them.
Key Signatures and Fingering Patterns
Students will learn the first few key signatures and fingering patterns.
Motion
Students will learn and identify which direction the sounds are going.
Intervals/Direction
Students will learn the distance between notes and ID Intervals.

Instructor
Liza Wu is a classical pianist and organist in Manhattan, performing regularly with NYC musicians, as well as internationally. She has been a long-time affiliate of many music organizations including the R. Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass, Barnard College of Columbia University, NYU, the School for Strings, Avenues: The World School (NYC), Interlochen Arts Camps, studios of world-renowned vocalists Josephine Mongiardo, Harolyn Blackwell, and Catherine Malfitano, and most recently Gooroo.
