The Grand Staff and Basic Symbols
Students will learn how to interpret the Grand Staff by identifying symbols and what they mean.
Note Heads / Values
Students will learn what basic note values and pitches look like by ID and differentiation.
Time Signatures / Rhythm
Students will learn how to read time signatures and rhythms.
Note Identification on Staff
Students will learn how to differentiate between notes on staff by identifying which line/space of which clef the notes are on.
Steps/Skips; Intervallic Reading
Students will learn to read steps vs skips by identifying which they are on the staff.

Instructor
Liza Wu is a classical pianist and organist in Manhattan, performing regularly with NYC musicians, as well as internationally. She has been a long-time affiliate of many music organizations including the R. Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass, Barnard College of Columbia University, NYU, the School for Strings, Avenues: The World School (NYC), Interlochen Arts Camps, studios of world-renowned vocalists Josephine Mongiardo, Harolyn Blackwell, and Catherine Malfitano, and most recently Gooroo.
