I am a second-year Ph.D. student in Biology at MIT, and I earned my BS in Biochemistry at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2018. I love general chemistry and since high school have taken it three times at three different levels, and have tutored it since I was a freshman in college. I believe it is very important to set a solid foundation early on in a subject, especially in chemistry, math, and biology, since these subjects build heavily upon themselves. I have found that when students are struggling in more advanced material in a subject, it is usually because they missed or are shaky on a more simple, foundational topic. I have no problem taking the time to identify what that topic is and to work with the student to master that first.
