The Ocean as a Garbage Can
Students will become familiar with humanities history of treating the ocean as a personal dumping ground
Sources of Pollution
Students will review what constitutes a limited resource and what contaminants are most likely to pollute a water source.
Point and Non-point source pollution
Students will become familiar with the two main types of water pollution, point source and non-point source.
Polluted Water and Water-borne Illness
Learn about the various disease that occurs from polluted water.
Filtration Experiment, part 2
Continuing to another filtration medium, the filtration study continues in pursuit of which household item is most effective.
Recommended Materials
A plastic water bottle, preferably 1 liter or larger, scissors, a sharp pen or a pin, a container of dirty water, sand.
