About the course

Learn the fundamentals of creating and sourcing music and sound for theatre! In this course, we will learn: the purpose of sound design and the choices we make in relation to this purpose; how to plot and plan for a sound design using sound cue lists; how to create and build a soundscape; and basic and terminology relating to sound design and theatre. This course uses Logic Pro X and QLab (not required for participation).

MFA in Musical Theatre Writing: NYU Tisch School of the Arts

I first began tutoring in piano and music theory during my high school years in Italy, and continued to do so when I went to the UK for my undergraduate degree. Knowing music is like knowing another language, and I am pleased to have been able to pass on this knowledge to other young people. Since moving to New York, I have been an active volunteer composer with the 52nd Street Project. I find it so rewarding to collaborate creatively with these students, and to help their imaginations grow and thrive. I truly want my students to feel that they sky is the limit for their creative pursuits, and that they don’t feel held back by any gaps in their artistic knowledge. An arts education should be accessible to everyone, and I’m so grateful to Gooroo for the opportunity to reach more students.
