About the course

Why have humans not inhabited the Moon since first walking on it in 1969? What would make it possible for humans to live on the Moon? Build a rover to explore Mars and understand why human beings cannot just inhabit the Moon as we do on Earth.

Course overview

The mystery of the Moon and Living on the Moon vs Earth

Students will be introduced to two planetary bodies and understand the major differences between the Sun and the Moon.

Engineering a Rover

Students will learn that NASA plans to land astronauts on the moon by the year 2024 and what role rovers will play in the expedition.

Instructor

Ariella is finishing up her senior year at Barnard where she will graduate with a BA in Economics. She has been tutoring for 6 years and works with students ranging in age from 6-20. While Ariella specializes in Economics, she has a strong sense of numbers and also tutors students in math. She has been tutoring with Gooroo since November 2019 and has taught Gooroo Live and Gooroo Courses in STEM topics as a result of her comprehensive liberal arts education.
