About the course

We are often asked to find the area and perimeter of different shapes. What is the area? What is the perimeter? This course will break down the differences between area and perimeter and walk you through how to find the area and perimeter of all kinds of different shapes. This includes the perimeter of rectangles, stars, "L" shapes, and the area of rectangles, squares, and triangles. You will also learn how to use the areas of rectangles to find the areas of triangles, and why the area of the triangle formula works.

Hello! My name is Yan Li and I am a teacher. I have taught as a student teacher in Boston for 4 years and I tutor in China over the summers. I am from Guangzhou, China and New York City. I am currently in my last year of studying elementary education at Boston College Lynch School of Education and Human Development. I am also enrolled in the Master's program for Curriculum and Instruction at Boston College, which I will complete in the upcoming year.
