Intro to Musical Theatre: The Golden Age
In this second class on American Musical Theatre, we take it all the way from Greek theatre, through the renaissance, to early 20th century composers. With a focus on history, we'll track the early origins of music and theatre and see how important works from hundreds of years ago are still relevant today. We'll take a special look at the writers of The Great American Songbook, Irving Berlin, George M. Cohan, the Gershwins, and Cole Porter!
