About the course

In Introduction to Arts Administration 1, we are first going to go over three broad categories describing different types of arts organizations. We will then look at real-life examples of organizations that fall into each of these categories. Next, we are going to talk about terms for describing an organization's beliefs such as mission, vision, and values, and go over how to identify and write these statements. If you currently work at an arts organization, are thinking about starting your own, taking courses in arts management and want a little further explanation, or just want to learn on your own time, you will walk away from this course with a vocabulary for identifying organization types and beliefs, as well as practice writing mission and vision statements yourself.
